K11 MUSEA
Today was planned around a meet up with an exiled Lancastrian pal, so we enjoyed a relaxed morning of swimming before heading for the subway. On route we popped into K11 MUSEA - a futuristic shopping mall cum art exhibition. Commanding a prime waterfront location, it’s the sort of place that Bond might look to acquire a sleek penthouse bolthole. You can buy everything here - from cookies to Cucinelli and Rolex to rice noodles.

Chi Lin Nunnery
We exited the subway at Diamond Hill and after navigating a series of ramps, overpasses and rickety stairs with Luna held aloft like a globe trotting royal we stumbled upon the Buddhist Nunnery. An oasis of calm buried amongst legions of residential tower blocks, the temple featured ornate statues, serene lotus ponds and quotes from the movers and shakers within the Ming Dynasty - ‘Without experiencing piercing cold the plum blossoms would not smell so sweet’. New Year Ming motivation.

Sai Kung and Friends
Who needs Uber when you can call a teacher from Burnley? A pal from back home has called Hong Kong home for almost a decade now, so it was great to finally catch up and pay him and his young family a visit. Kieren and the girls live on the Sai Kung Peninsula - a beautiful spot and the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the city. We spent the evening eating, drinking, discussing the perils of fatherhood and bemoaning the demise of BFC (though at the time of writing we are licking Millwall 3-0 and could be going to Wembley). It can’t be easy to craft a life so far from the comforts of home but Kieren definitely has here. Thanks to you and the girls for your wonderful hospitality pal. Magic!
Good job you did not wait for a Burnley win before you contacted your buddy, or you might have outstayed your Visa :)
