Seeing Tannadice filled with the smiling faces of a multi generational Arab support was a real honour last night. This time last year I was lucky enough to see my own team Burnley clinch the league title. There’s truly not a feeling like it. Thanks to all those who have spent their hard earned cash following us home and away this year. A day at the football is now sadly a luxury for many of us, so I hope that all those present on the Tangerine terraces take with them a memory for life. I know I will. Being lucky enough to enjoy the moment with my wife and parents was something I’ll cherish forever.
On a personal level, the trials and tribulations of this ultimately successful season have given me an even greater appreciation of what it takes to be a champion. The dominant teams that churn out title after title, the fearless youngster who shakes up the world, the fallen conquerer who finds strength in adversity. The Bulls, Tyson, Woods. It’s digging deep when the doubters arise, training hard in the pissing rain and toiling on through personal pain and strife.
Last night was a cracking way to round off what’s been a memorable season. Winning the title has been far from easy but anything worth having in life seldom often is. Football is a microcosm of life itself. You have good days, bad days, glad days and sad days. I’m proud of all the lads who I’ve been lucky enough to share the ups and downs with, the footballing staff for lending their support and all of those behind the scenes who do vitally important work in the local community. Great things can be achieved when people stick together. United we stand, divided we fall.

The Dream Team
